If you are interested in our club, we invite you to come to one of our monthly meetings, meet our members, ask questions, get answers, and meet our treasurer who will be happy to give you an application form.

Please remember that membership is REQUIRED for foray participation.

If you prefer to join by mail, you can print out the Asheville Mushroom Club Membership Form (requires Adobe Reader) and send it to our treasurer: Ken McGill, PO Box 182, Campobello, SC 29322 along with a check made payable to Asheville Mushroom Club.

Dues for 2008:
Dues for those renewing are payable in January.
New members may join at any time.
Joining after Sept 1, 2008 confers membership
for 2009.

Becoming a member of the Asheville Mushroom Club entitles you:

• to receive our bulletin and notices which inform members of our monthly programs, planned forays, and special events.
• to attend AMC meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, programs meet March through October, with a final business meeting in November. These meetings are also open to the general public.
• to join our big Holiday gathering featuring a gourmet potluck and fun auction.
• to participate in day forays and occasional week-end getaways, with accommodations ranging from optional tent camping and RVs to state park cabin rentals. Membership is REQUIRED for all forays.
• to membership discount for AMC "merchandise" such as T-shirts and cook books.

Membership dues support the club by enabling us to offer special programs, host guest speakers, and learn from expert mycologists at forays.

Our monthly club programs are open to the public. We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Programs meet March through October, with a final business meeting in November at 7 PM at the Western North Carolina Nature Center, 75 Gashes Creek Road, in East Asheville. Follow signs from US 70 or 1-40 or 1-240. MAP

The Asheville Mushroom Club Yahoo group has been set up to exchange ideas and coordinate impromptu forays and trips among members of the Asheville Mushroom Club. We currently do not restrict membership to this yahoo group in order to allow for interested parties such as mycologists, prospective members and other folks involved with mushrooms, but not part of our club, to be able to join into discussions with club members.

AMC is affiliated with the North American Mycological Association (NAMA) whose purpose is to promote, pursue, and advance the science of mycology. Members of our club receive a discount on NAMA dues. Membership provides you with a newsletter and yearly magazine and entitles you to attend NAMA-sponsored forays around the country. Contact: WWW.NAMYCO.ORG
