On a sunny Sunday in June about a dozen members of the AMC went on a foray to Holmes State Educational Forest. Even with such small numbers we split into several groups, covering lots of different ground, from rich cove, to oak forest, pine and rhododendron woods and open fields. The weather in June had been rather dry, but there was rain a few days before the foray and we were happy to find a total of 77 species including no less than 11 Amanitas and some tasty edibles and two firsts for the club,Ossicaulis lignatilis and Xeromphalina tenuipes. Many thanks as always for Mike and Charlotte leading the naming game.
